Ralph Lauren Joins CFDA’s Fashion Manufacturing Initiative

Ralph Lauren has join forces with the Fashion Manufacturing Initiative team. It is said that the all-american fashion house will be donating $500,000, which according to the CFDA and WWD makes Ralph Lauren “premier underwriter” for the project. Andrew Rosen, Found of Theory, has also given $500,000 towards the cause along with the $1 million pledge from the New York City Economic Development Corporation bringing the initiatives totally raised thus far to a whopping $2 million.

 

The projects goal is to raise $3 million that will aid in revamping the Garment District to its former glory with a four-step plan to modernize its factories, improve working conditions, attract skilled laborers, and centralize information for designers looking to produce in New York.
