Marc Jacobs Leaves Louis Vuitton

After months of rumors, it has finally been confirmed that Marc Jacobs, who has been Louis Vuitton‘s creative director since 1997, will not be renewing his contract with the storied French house. Furthermore, an anonymous source hinted that Nicolas Ghesquière,  the former creative director of Balenciaga, was being considered as Jacobs’ replacement.

The 50-year-old designer will now focus on his eponymous brands, Marc Jacobs and Marc by Marc Jacobs. It is hoped that the Marc Jacobs brand will make its initial public offering in the next three years.
